John Lennon
December 8th of this year marked the 31st anniversary of the death of the legendary John Lennon, founding member of The Beatles and one of the single most cherished and revered figures in the history of songwriting.
In 1975, Lennon disengaged himself from recording and the music business in general to devote time to his son Sean. Said Lennon: “We have basically decided, without any great decision, to be with our baby as much as we can until we feel we can take time off to indulge ourselves in creating things outside of the family.”
Lennon resurfaced in 1980 with the single “(Just Like) Starting Over” and the album Double Fantasy the following month. Lennon was murdered three weeks later.
